Christmas 2013

By Ashley Brooke, Kewpie83 @KewpieDoll83

Another Christmas has come and gone.  As we approach 2014, I wanted to give you a peek at what dolly related things were on my birthday table and under the tree!  Come 2014, I will spotlight these each in a little more detail, but for now, here’s a sneak peek!!!

The majority of the Christmas shopping is done by myself and my mother, which means that we both receive a good number of dolls or doll related items!  My birthday happens to be a few days before Christmas.  This year was a bit of a ‘big’ birthday for me– 30!  I’m in good company, though, with the Cabbage Patch Kids also turning the big 3-0!

I know these gifts don’t really resemble what others get for ‘big’ birthdays, but honestly?  I love that!  I can’t wait to display the  puzzles and I love the uncut paper doll books!  Surprising was the MiWorld set I received, as I didn’t expect that at all!  And of course, there’s the My Pet Monster puzzle.  For those who don’t know, I wanted a My Pet Monster so bad when they first came out. Unfortunately, I never received one.  To this day, I think it would be neat to own my own My Pet Monster.  Having a puzzle with the little guy is one step closer!

My favorite part of Christmas is the giving.  I was lucky enough to snag two really affordable Taeyang’s for my mom (Wizard of Oz Tin Man and Scarecrow) to complete her Wizard of Oz set.  I also gifted her a Disney Princess Prince doll, Flynn Rider, a plush Cabbage Patch Kid and a Cutie Pop (amongst a few non dolly related items).  That being said, it’s always fun opening presents.  Here’s a few that I received!

As always, my family picked up a nice variety of dolls for under the Christmas tree!  I received the Lalaloopsy I’ve been bugging my mother about, Haley Galaxy, as well as the Kawaii Crush set I’ve been looking at, the PB and J set!

Also under the tree was a Terri Lee from their release in 2012 and a Madame Alexander Smurfette, Picture Day Lagoona, the Barbie: A Pony Tale Sisters set with no bangs Skipper, and my personal favorite, a Kurhn Christmas doll!!!  Last, but not least, I opened up two MiWorld rooms, DQ and Opi.

My C3P0 collection grew a lot this Christmas with two C3P0 themed dog toys, some vintage soap, a tiny Micro Machine playset and a snazzy uncut key!

Merry Christmas!
