Cheteshwar Pujara hit his maiden double century

Cheteshwar Pujara hit his maiden double century to lift India past 500-mark in the first Test against England at Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad on Friday.

The 24-year-old Gujarat batsman, resuming his innings with the overnight score of 98, batted with dauntless determination and flair to tease the helpless English bowling attack.

Pujara, who was unbeaten for 196 at tea, lofted a single off pacer James Anderson to bring up his double-century from 374 balls.  His so far knock was laced with 21 boundaries.
