Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

By Cgajid @cgajid
Hey Vintage lovers!! Christmas is just around the corner and top of our Christmas lists are some festive, wintery gems which will definitely light your vintage fire!!
Some inspiration I've had for my winter wardrobe has come from designer Sonia Rykiel who really has captured the winter trends of maxi skirts, wide leg pants and suits. A common pattern of warm fabric tones within her Winter collection makes our purses tingle at the need to go find ourselves something equally as fabulous!

The french Designer Sonia Rykiel has been named 'the Queen of knits' so winter wear is her chance to show off her specialty! The sweater she first designed went back 7 times for alterations before she was satisfied with it. A perfectionist and experimentalist, she has tried creating designs with seams inside out and took away the hem and lining. For some diversity she also created a range of fragrances of which '7e Sens' was the first. Her chestnut locks seems to inspire a lot of her color choices in her latest collection too which we love!

Fearless of a red and orange clash refains to take away any class from the design, if anything the classy vintage orange fur adds a touch of va va voom!

Sonia experiments with fabrics and these experiments are carried into her final designs, its like her whole thought process and inspiration behind her garments is used to make the final design extra unique and reflective of her ideas which is what makes her pieces honest and elegant. So vintage and her designs make us hungry for the next collection!!Keep posted for more info from Vinchi and don't be scared to feast on those mince pies- that's what our big vintage knit jumpers are for!
