We live in a world today where the distinction between technology and the body is almost invisible. 20 years ago cell phones were exclusive to the rich who could afford them, but today they have become a necessity for everyone from pre-teens to senior citizens. We sleep with our phones, bring them to the bathroom, and carry them around in our hands as if they were literally an innate part of our beings. The placement of cell phones in pop culture is relatively a brand new thing, only occurring over the last two decades.
