Whether you’re shopping online or on the high street, and have an interest in men’s cardigans, ladies knitwear or dresses, you’re sure to appreciate some fashion pointers… and where better to look than the sartorial choices of today’s crop of celebrities? As we enter the New Year, we let you know about all of the biggest celebrity fashion developments of 2012.
Sharp looks at the X Factor Final!
Whatever your opinion of the X Factor, there’s no question that it’s one of the ultimate places to look for some of the sharpest styles of both new and old celebrities, as well as for up-and-coming singing talent.
The recent X Factor Final, for example, saw Rihanna take to the stage in a fabulous cutaway Alexander Wang ensemble, consisting of a white skirt and top that brilliantly complemented her freshly re-cropped hairstyle. Also performing was Emeli Sande, who wooed while sitting at the piano in a black form-fitting cut-out detail dress.
Tulisa, meanwhile, donned a Hollie de Keyser floor-length beaded gown, resuming her fashion rivalry with Nicole Scherzinger, who opted for a bespoke Stephane Rolland Haute Couture dress that perfectly flattered her figure. And of course, eventual winner James Arthur attracted attention for more than just his singing, thanks to an effortlessly smart gray wool jacket.
Kate Middleton attracting the right headlines
Kate Middleton has been the name on so many people’s lips in 2012, and regardless of other controversies, she definitely made the right steps with her fashion during the past 12 months.
From the long, moss-green Alexander McQueen dress that she wore to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, to the lovely egg shell blue retro tea dress that she paired with a traditional Eastern parasol while with William on a Royal tour of Singapore, Kate definitely provided plenty of inspiration to fashion fanatics during 2012.

Guys and girls doing it for themselves
2012 certainly wasn’t short of well-dressed and dapper men, either. In addition to the aforementioned James Arthur, the likes of Robert Pattinson, Ed Westwick, David Beckham, Gary Barlow and Johnny Depp all caught the eye with their sharp sense of style.
As for the women, a list of the best-dressed of 2012 by GLAMOUR included not only Middleton but also the likes of Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham, Florence Welch and Kristen Stewart. The latter topped this year’s list, courtesy of a convincing transformation from an awkward teen into a highly relatable and unwaveringly on-trend queen of style.
