The achievements of care workers employed by the care provider Care South have been recognised as part of the company’s annual awards ceremony, in which 11 staff members and two care homes were honoured.

Care South, which is a registered charity organisation responsible for 18 care homes in the South of England, holds a ceremony every year to praise deserving staff and care homes. This year, the winners of the third annual Star Awards included ‘Home Carer of the Year’ Bruce Law and ‘Chef of the Year’ Paula Woodhead.

Also recognised at the awards, in which the winners are nominated by service users and colleagues, were more than 80 staff members who have completed care training courses. Every year, more Care South staff achieve NVQ care training qualifications and diplomas in a variety of care-related subjects.

Commenting on this year’s awards, Care South’s chief executive Susan Willoughby said:

“We’re very proud of our staff and their hard work and commitment. We regularly see staff going the extra mile to make a real difference to the lives of our residents and service users, so the Stars Awards are a great way for us to say thank you.”
