August 2007

This aircraft was built as a PBY but then delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force as an OA-10 Catalina where it served Alaskan wartime duty.  In 1947 this pane crashed while chasing bears (??) and was left for scrap.  It required a three-year effort to bring this Cat to Lake Hood and the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum.  Panasonic FZ30, processing with Aperture.
