Canada Turns 150 on the Hill – Part 2

Posted on the 04 July 2017 by Hendrik Pape @soundcheckblg

On July 1st, approximately 25,000 thousands red and white clad partygoers could be found dancing the night away on Parliament Hill. Those brave souls who endured the very long security lines only to be dumped on by Mother Nature were rewarded by performances by some of the country's leading artists.

Hosts Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau and Justin Trudeau were beaming as they opened the celebration.

The patient crowd was treated to a front-row seat to performances by artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Serena Ryder, Walk off the Earth, Lisa LeBlanc, Dean Brody, and Alessia Cara, as well as a breath-taking presentation by Cirque du Soleil. The evening drew to a close as 20 minutes and 17 seconds of fireworks were set off above the peace tower. Click here for complete coverage of Canada Day festivities.
