Probation Screen at launch of online play
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Probation. You just dropped into a match and your team is behind by overwhelming odds. You curse the screen and the game insertion gods as you try to understand how a team can camp every corner of your spawn. So you, like most of the other players in this same situation, back out.Seemingly out of nowhere, you are hit with "probation". We have played a lot of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 in our day, but, in our opinion, this is the most interesting thing to happen since the invention of the wireless controller.
This new system has been met with fans loving it or hating it. On the hate side, are people who join rooms on the losing side and want to immediately leave or other seemingly legit complaints (other team glitching, crappy server connection, etc...). On the love side are fans tired of people backing out once their team starts to lose or they feel like they are some how disadvantaged (lagging behind on shots, crappy team selection, etc...). There seems to be no right answer.
Some people complain of getting "kicked" for bad connections or server issues and receiving probation. We have no way to confirm this. We have been kicked before, but received this probation legitimately as we were leaving for a dinner out and simply powered down our system to leave rather than finish a 15 min demolition game already running long.
Luckily the probation effects seem only temporary. In our case, we received 1 minute of probation. Although frustrating, at least it gave us time to make coffee and take a wiz before starting our long bout of online frustrations.
