In my bathroom I have a desk calendar – you know the ones where you take the past day’s sheet and put it behind the stack and each day there’s a new sheet with the current date and illustration? I have one of those.
It was given to me by a friend last Christmas and the focus is shoes – amazing and beautiful and funny and unusual shoes. I adore it.
Here’s the point – everyday when I get up I switch out the day and get a little surprise – a wonderful picture of amazing things –
Daily I’m delighted and what’s even more wonderful is that if I’m not completely enamored with the picture one day, it’s gone by the next. However every day there’s a little treasure waiting for me to uncover right after I wake up.

Calendars for next year are on sale now – and another wonderful friend has already gifted me a second year of shoes (and he didn’t even know about this year) so I am looking forward to another year of little gifts, treasures, surprises that start my day in delight.
