Cala Mariolu
Sole, tintarella , mare, tuffi...che voglia di estate.Bisogna scegliere la spiaggia giusta! Ognuno ha la sua idea ideale di mare.
C'è chi preferisce la spiaggia super organizzata dove ci sono iniziative sia per grandi che per bambini. C'è chi preferisce la spiaggia libera.
C'è chi , come me, ama le spiagge isolate dove nel caso ti dimenticassero dovresti vivere come Robinson Crusoe.
Di solito questo tipo di spiagge si raggiunge tramite sentieri stretti o dal mare. Ci sono comunque posti dove spiagge di questo genere sono accessibili anche in auto. Basta conoscerle. Un anno in Calabria mi sono ritrovata il 15 di Agosto io e altre persone su una spiaggia enorme e deserta...non riuscivo a crederci!
Alcune spiagge spettacolari sono in Sardegna. Eccone una: Cala Mariolu, lato est della Sardegna. Comune di Baunei provincia di Ogliastra (ss125). L'acqua è cristallina e limpida, di una bellezza da togliere il fiato.
Se veramente si è fortunati si riuscirà a vedere anche la foca monaca. Mariolu vuol dire ladra. Perchè chiamare una spiaggia?
Perchè la foca monaca, che è la vera padrona di casa, rubava il pescato dalle reti dei pescatori!
La spiaggia è raggiungibile solo con un percorso trekking impegnativo, però non scoraggiatevi, anche chi non potesse affrontare un duro cammino e non ne avesse voglia può arrivare in questo paradiso! Come? Da Cala Gonone porto, Arbatrax e Santa Maria Navarrese, troverete imbarcazioni che vi porteranno fino quì. Un paradiso in cui bisogna assolutamente fare il bagno!

You need to choose the right beach! Everyone has an idea of the perfect beach. There are those who prefer a super organised beach both for adults and children. Some people prefer free beach. There are those who - like me- loves the isolated beaches. In these places if someone forget you, you will live like Robinson Crusoe. Usually this kind of beaches can be reached through narrow paths or by sea. However, there are places where the isolated beaches are also accessible by car. It is needed to know where they are. One year I was in Calabria at August 15th, there I discovered a deserted and huge beach ... I could not believe it!
Some spectacular beaches are in Sardinia. One in particular is Cala Mariolu, east side of Sardinia. Baunei is the name of the village and it is in Ogliastra territory (SS125,the number of the street to arrive there). The water is crystal clear and limpid, this place take your breath away. If you are really lucky you will be able to see even the monk seal. Mariolu means thief. Why such a name for this beach?
Because the monk seal- which is the trueowner of this beach -, stole the fish from the nets of the fishermen!
You can arrive here only by a hiking trail challenging, but do not worry, even those who can not do a narrow path or those who are lazy, can arrive in this paradise! How? From Cala Gonone port, Arbatrax and Santa Maria Navarrese. There you will find boats that take you up here. A paradise where you have absolutely swim!
