Over the weekend I was in London. On the Sunday I lost my oyster card, complete with my return ticket to Bristol in it. I nearly cried but, convincing myself that craft was more important than worrying about the expense and aggravation of losing my ticket, I took myself along to the BUST Christmas Craftacular which was held at York Hall in Bethnal Green. I managed to get there early enough to bag myself a goodie bag (I was the second to last person who did and very happy about it!). Cosmic order, you might say, was balanced out with these two events. Here are my photos and favorite vendors from the day. They had a beautiful spread of cupcakes and biscuits to fuel up on before the crafting commenced.
Happy, crafty people at the Tatty Devine stall.
This is the wonderful Lucie Ellen - I love her pieces, her display was beautifully made up and the best thing about her jewelry is that it's affordable. Check out her online store here
The Tatty Devine tombola. They had some fantastic prizes on offer but if you didn't win a star prize, you got to pick a random gift box. I managed to bag a bangle and a flower ring! Jackpot.
The gentle comedy of Honksville who were also selling some very cool monster soft toys, all made from recycled fabrics. Love it.
There was a library for perusing the latest craft books, complete with an authentic (looking) librarian to sell the books and invite crafters to just have a browse. How civilised!
Beautiful laser cut alphabet badges decorated with vintage maps, from The House of Ismay
Gorgeous millinery by Lucy Wren - one of the few things I bought on the day was a lovely floral headband, which I decided I could probably also wear as a necklace. It is so beautifully put together.
The lady milliner herself, Lucy Wren
Awesome acrylic/leather jewellery whose name escapes me but when I find the card I'll add a link!
Matrioshka galore!
The hustle and the bustle and screen printing by Kate Broughton:
More lovely arty offerings from Kate Sutton
And finally, one of the most beautiful vendors of the day, A Alicia, whose hand knitted jewelry swept me away. Added to the Christmas/birthday list forever more.
Thanks for a great day to Victoria Woodcock, who organises the Craftacular. It was fab!
