Buccellati Oak Street Opens in Chicago’s Poshest Shopping District

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

With the U.S. recession quickly becoming a thing of the past, it looks like foreign companies are once more willing to invest in U.S. retail endeavors. Italian jewelry giant Buccellati has generously shown their faith in the U.S. economy with the opening of their American flagship store in Chicago this week. If you think Buccellati is just another jewelry store opening up along Chicago’s sophisticated Oak Street, think again. Few retailers in America can promise you the shopping experience that this posh jewelry retailer is offering.

The 2,000 square foot, two level, ultra sophisticated jewelry boutiques will share retail space with other high dollar retailers in the newly renovated Esquire Theater. How about Carolina Herrera and Dolce and Gabana as neighbors? With designers like these setting up shop, the Esquire Theater is soon to become the premier shopping experience for the elite of Chicago. The excitement surrounding the explosion of this area of Chicago is almost tangible as autumn anticipates the opening of this premier shop.

Buccellati unapologetically claims to target a customer market of individuals with $30 million dollars of investing assets. Surprisingly enough, research shows there to be 3,000 or more individuals within Illinois that fall into that category. Of course, you don’t have to be a millionaire to make a purchase at the posh Chicago store. There are designer, one of a kind pieces that begin as low as three hundred dollars. However, when the wealthiest among us want to go rock shopping, Buccellati offers a VIP viewing room where big spenders can view one of kind creations while they sip champagne. Now that is customer service. You cannot enter the store without feeling like a millionaire, though. With Murano chandeliers, silk walls and gilded furniture every inch of this Italian jewelry palace is dripping of elegance and opulence.

The Oak Street spot was carefully handpicked to ensure it was the premier location in Chicago to attract the wealthiest patrons. Michigan Avenue had also be considered but was eventually rejected says CEO Alberto Milani because they wanted a “more refined atmosphere,” than Michigan Avenue could supply.

Italian based Buccellati was founded in Milan, Italy in 1919 and quickly became known as one of the premier jewelry dealers of Europe. Though more of just a namesake today, the Milanese Buccellati family still takes an active role in the public relations of the company, and it was the Buccellati family that first made the announcement that Chicago would be home to their newest boutique shopping venue. The company has grown in international prestige in the last few decades. The new flagship store in Chicago will not be the only U.S. Buccellati retailer, though. The jewelers can boast of stores in New York City, New York, Beverly Hills, California and Aspen, Colorado. However, the retailer expects for their Chicago store to be their premier U.S. location.

The pampered socialites of Chicago’s elite can look forward to a holly jolly Christimas this year with such an exquiste boutique opening up just in time for holiday shopping.
