Celebrated British film director Michael Winner passed away at the age of 77. He was ill since quite some time and had recent stints at hospitals. Winner breathed his last at home with his wife of two years in his bedside. Wife Geraldine Winner made news of his death public on Monday. She said in a statement.
“Michael was a wonderful man, brilliant, funny and generous. A light has gone out in my life,”
Michael Winner had a really long film career that spanned over five decades but his hallmark production “Death wish” remained his identity throughout all these years. Death wish was about an architect who becomes a vigilante after murder of his wife and rape of his daughter.
After spending five decades in film directions Michael re-invented him and became a food critic. As a restaurant critic he wrote a weekly column in “The Sunday Times” under title of “Winner’s Dinners”.
