Going out for breakfast is so luxurious.
During the week, mornings are usually pretty hectic, so those of us who do eat before work probably stick to the same thing over and over and over (oatmeal, oatmeal, oatmeal!).
But on weekends? It’s time to relax, baby! You can sleep in, then go out for a meal you wouldn’t normally make yourself at home. (Some people call this “brunch,” but 98% of the time I can’t wait until 12:30 to put something in my belly.)
There’s a place I love near Columbia University called Community Food & Juice. It’s a big, open restaurant with heavy wooden tables and a creative menu that builds on your typical brunch fare. They’ve also got interesting cocktails, fresh juice, tea concoctions and strong coffee.
And if you sit in the window, you’ll have a great spot to people-watch!
Community uses local, organic products when possible, and their food just tastes fresh. They’ve also got the BEST raspberry jam, so if you order anything with bread, make sure you get a side of it.
