Break out the BBQ - Summer is on It's Way..

By Ourbabyblog @OurBabyBlogx
There's nothing I love more than a gorgeous summers day, with bright blue sky, surrounded by friends and a delicious BBQ on the go! Now the weather is warming up, I've been looking at our garden and it really needs a bit of tlc, the cold months plus lots of snow over the winter and having a baby has meant we pretty much abandoned it, weeds have started taking over the pebbles and spider webs taking over the table and chairs..it's time to get it sorted and looking presentable again!Break out the BBQ - Summer is on it's way..

Here are some tips to get your garden looking perfect for summer, I'm no expert but sometimes little things can go a long way..1. If you have decking, get some varnish from your local DIY shop, make sure it's the right one for yours, give it a good hose down and clean and paint some varnish on, it's amazing what a lick of paint can do! It'll brighten your garden up and make it look like you really do make the effort! Ha.2. Get yourself a table and chair set, it doesn't have to be expensive but if you do spend a little more it'll probably last for more than one summer! Get a cover too, that's something we didn't do, it'll protect your furniture (especially if its wood) and keep it looking brand new!

3. Planting! Get to your local garden center and buy some colourful flowers, geraniums are beautiful, or just look at what you fancy, remember less is sometimes more..yes the Chelsea flower show looks beautiful but your garden isn't anywhere near that big! As i said in a previous post, this is also a fab time to get the kids involved, they'll enjoy getting their hands dirty and helping you out!

4. Lighting! You can literally transform your garden with some clever lighting! Lanterns, fairy lights and candles etc, you can choose to decorate around the fencing..the rockery or just the table set! Do a little research online first, you don't want to end up with santas grotto in your garden! Subtle lighting and again, less is more! 5Now, if money wasn't an object and we all had gardens the size of football pitches we could definitely go all out and spoil ourselves (well, our gardens), here is a collection of some GORGEOUS outdoor furniture I'm adding to my wish list (hey, we can all dream can't we?)
