Boutique-y Whisky Irish Single Malt 15 Years Review

By Josh Peters @TheWhiskeyJug

The future of this vertical is the one I’m most excited to watch, heck it’s one of the most exciting now. So many changes, quality offerings and opportunities to find at least semi-reasonable gems… this one. The Boutique-y Whisky Irish Single Malt 15 Years. It may look like a horse, but I assure you it’s a gem.

Boutique-y Whisky Irish Single Malt 15 Years

Boutique-y can be a little hit-or miss with their releases. But they’re one of those indie bottlers that when they’re on… they’re ON and pick out some really good casks. Their older picks do tend to be better than their younger picks (age wise), but then again whose aren’t these days? It’s how the whiskey world is rolling right now.

Boutique-y Whisky Irish Single Malt 15 Years Review: Details and Tasting Notes

In That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s Words:

“Ah, lovely Irish whiskey! Booming now, but it wasn’t so many years ago that the number of distilleries dwindled precariously, all joining forces at one stage simply to survive. It should also be remembered, however, that Irish whiskey has a long and glorious history and was the most popular spirit in the world back in the 19th century including (whisper it…) in Scotland!”

Boutique-y Whisky Irish Single Malt 15 Years Review: Overall and Score

Please sir, can I have some more? The Aroma is popping with bright rich fruity and malty notes with a golden honey sweetness underneath; Palate is a richer copy with a wonderful bit of oak coming through; Finish is depressing because it doesn’t continue this experience longer.

There are whiskies I like that are still destined to be included in the infinity barrel and there are whiskeys that are destined to be drank in the entirety by me and my friends. This is definitely the latter. The Boutique-y Whisky Irish Single Malt 15 Years is just too darn good to put into the infinity barrel. Well… maybe just an ounce so I know some trace of it is always there.

SCORE: 4/5
