I just came across this awesome idea while perusing Books of Amber's blog post. I hadn't heard of this particular Read-A-Thon before, but I think it's a really fun idea! Here's the deal:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. So I've decided to participate. Fair warning, this is my first week back at work since the middle of December, so I imagine that will impact how much reading I get done. I'm setting a lofty goal, with no idea whether I'll be able to do it or not! Here's my plan, and I'll be updating this post every day with my progress.
Time Devoted to Reading:
I'm planning to try for at least an hour and a half of reading (on average) for each day of the challenge. As stated above, what with work, I might not have time every day. But the good news is that the challenge ends on a weekend, so if I don't manage to do quite that much every day, I can try and make up for it before the challenge ends!
My Goals:
I'm hoping to finish 2-3 books. I normally try for 1-2 books per week, given that I work full time and spend two hours a day commuting to/from said job.
