" Gel Foundation 16hrs radiance-boosting, even, revived complexion. Instant blending gel, flawless complexion, undetectable coverage. Vitamin-rich fruits: lychee, goji berries, pomegranate. "
I first heard about this foundation after attending the HPM event, after with everything it claims, its hard not to be interested. I decided that before giving an accurate review, I needed to test it for at least a month. Within a month, my skin has to put up with varying weather (gale force winds, hail stones & heavy down pours to name a few) fluctuating hormones, hangovers and nights where I sleep with my make-up on.
My skin is extremely oily, has visible pores and scarring from old blemishes. This foundation claims that it lasts for 16 hours, and though I will say it does have great staying power on my oily skin, after an eight hour day at work, it did need touching up. I was also very sceptical about its claim to revive my complexion with undetectable coverage as it shows on the bottle that it has a light coverage. Again, I have to admit, it does. Below is an up close photo with no flash, with just this foundation and no other make-up on.
As you can see my pores are still slightly noticeable and my under eye needs a bit of concealer, but other than that I think its done a brilliant job, though I wouldn't agree with the claim that says my skin will be completely flawless. To be honest, for a "drug store" foundation, it is brilliant. Its got staying power, it has a decent coverage which can be built up if you want more, it has a semi-matte finish so it doesn't look cakey but doesn't look shiney, my only gripe with the product is their claim that it is instantly blend-able, which I personally don't think it is. You definitely need to use a foundation brush to apply this, and a pea sized amount is plenty to cover your face and neck. I feel that you need to buff it into the skin to try to get as close as you can to that 'flawless' look. I sometimes find that if I'm in a rush to apply my make-up sometimes I find myself left with 'brush stokes' on my face where I haven't blended it enough.I would definitely recommend this, especially, if like me, your budget can't stretch to, shall we say, Double Wear? After all we are in a recession and it January, globally known as the month everyone is skint. I would just advise you use a primer, or concealer depending on your skin type. I tend to apply primer, this foundation, concealer under my eyes then pressed matte powder and find it works perfectly well.Have you tried this or any other Bourjois foundation? What do you think of them? Will you be trying this healthy mix serum? Let me know!"believe in yourself"
