As much as I like the cold weather, for the sole reason of being able to wear my favorite coats, I don't enjoy being constantly swamped with the dilemma of what pants to wear, specially when staying warm tops the sartorial chart?? As I transition from a part-time property manager job to a full-time set up and to a more formal desk job in a few weeks, I have been brainstorming office looks. Not just professional outfits, but general winter outfits that are warm yet stylish.
Truth be told, had I not been a blogger, I would have gotten away with wearing a pair of jeans everywhere, everyday, but now that I have my friends and readers who look up to me for fashion advice, I always feel adventurous, sartorially! So I've put together a winter-pant guide, with bottom options that are cool, chic and warm. Hope you enjoy reading it!
H&M top ( same ) c/o H&M // ANTHROPOLOGIE velvet pants // J CREW pumps ( on sale ) // FENDI bag ( same ) // WAYF jacket c/o D/ELEVEN ( same)

JEANS - a winter outfit no-brainer. These are the easiest and fail-proof option. But you don't have to stick to the good ole blue skinny pair. The store shelves are overloaded with options like skinny, wide legs, cropped, flared, frayed, cigarette leg, straight and what not. You can certainly find options that can be comfortably tucked into your boots or even paired with a pair of lace socks and pumps- edgy!! Given the option to wear jeans on Friday to work, reach out for your favorite duster coat or a plaid blazer to pair with it and voila!!!
TIGHTS/LEGGINGS - tights have come a long way from being the basic black or nude. Sky is the limit and fashionistas are going cray-cray with all the colorful, patterned, textured options out there. Bonus, tights are now available in cashmere and knit options as well. Pair them with your skirts, dresses, or even under your jeans or other pants for that extra layer of warmth. One tights' trend that I am looking forward to trying this winter is the fishnet under your ripped jeans trend- cool right!!!
JOGGERS - these are the pants with tapered and elastic hem and hit right at your mid-calf. Believe it or not, I don't own a single pair of joggers. I guess the casual vibe is way too casual for me and you know that this girl doesn't understand the language of casual. Anyways, these are a great option in winters, specially now that you get knit, fleece and flannel lined options. I've spotted celebs pair their's with long coats atop, sweatshirts inside, thick scarves and high-heeled booties. Would you wear this trend in winters?
SWEATPANTS- call them the loose version of joggers. These are long, loose-hem and full-length. Same as joggers you could buy these with the fleece-lining option for keeping you warm.
CIGARETTE PANTS- these slim pants are a wardrobe-essential for the modern working women. Not necessarily working women, but we all should own a couple of these in our closet. Think prints, velvet, corduroy, suede, woolen, flannel, there are so many options that take winter dressing up a notch and keep you warm too. Wear them with your blazer and a pair of polished booties for work and sweatshirt or a loose pullover with sneakers for an off-duty look.
WIDE LEG TROUSERS - the most comfortable and effortless of all the winter pant options are wide leg trousers. Professional, dressy and roomy for layering, I would kill for these. These are easy to dress up or down and a no-brainer for any professional environment. Wool and cashmere are great for winters and I would wear mine with a dressy pullover and blazer and pointy-toe booties.
Which bottom trend is your favorite in winters???
