Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, a local authority in Kent, has achieved a prestigious award in recognition of its efforts to promote health and safety in the workplace.
The council received the prize, a Gold Award, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). A special ceremony was held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, which is situated at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, for the prize-giving.
The management team at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council are being honoured for their approach to health and safety within its premises. Safe working practices, compliance with regulations and extensive health and safety training are all necessary to achieve such a prestigious award.
Commenting on the impressive accolade, Bill Parkinson, the Borough Council’s Health and Safety Officer and the representative who accepted the award at the ceremony, said:
“The RoSPA awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work, they are also about making sure that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place.
“We are absolutely committed to maintaining the highest levels of performance in this crucial area.”
