Books I Hope to Read in 2014

By Bethtinkerbell @TinksLostGirls

It looks like Wednesdays are slowly becoming book days! I hope you don’t mind, i’ve just become a little book obsessed again at the moment. I think i’m just so glad to be assignment free and actually to have the time to read again.

I thought I would share with you some of the books which I’m hoping to get read this year. I’ve chosen ones which have been sat in my to be read pile for most of last year. I have bought plenty of books so far this month, and I would imgaine that by now my TBR pile is almost big enough to last me the whole year with a book a week. I might just have to go an count up now! Ooookays, my TBR pile currently contains 76 books, I definitely don’t need to be buying any more!

Books I hope to read in 2014

1. Dracula by Bram Stoker.

I’ve had this book in my Amazon basket for ages, and I eventually moved it over to my wishlist, and luckily Tigger bought me it for my birthday. I just think if you’re going to spend time reading vampire novels then you really should read Dracula.

2. Looking for Alaska/The Fault in our Stars by John Green.

I have actually started reading Looking for Alaska but I really can not get into it. However, I am going to make it my mission to complete at least one of the two John Green novels I own, before I can fully judge whether or not I actually like his books.

3. The Yellow on the Broom by Betsy Whyte.

I need to read this book, it has been recommended by my Granddad, he has read it and has said that the way Betsy and her family traveled and worked is the same as what his family did. My mom has read it and really enjoyed it, so now it’s my turn to get it read.

4. The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides.

I have been recommended this book a number of times, and I’ve been watching Booktuber hauls on YouTube and it has popped up so many times that I just had to buy it. I now want to get it read as soon as possible to see how good it is.

5. The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

I saw The Help when it was in the cinema a couple of years ago, and I was a mess I came out in tears and couldn’t stop crying for ages. I’ve wanted to read the book ever since then, I just know that the book will be better and contain much more detail that just couldn’t be included in the film.

Five books are enough to be getting on with, I don’t want to put myself off reading anything new throughout the year. I am sure that at some point I will actually get through my TBR pile, though it is going to continue increasing.

Have you got any book recommendations which I should purchase and add to my TBR pile?

Tink x

Ps. I’m thinking of organising a book swap, would anyone be interested? You would purchase a couple of books to send to your partner, a little like a beauty box swap.
