My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I received a copy of the book through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
Teach Her is a story that revolves around a teacher named Shirley who separates from her husband Jim. The description for the book claims it is darkly humorous though for the life of me I could not find anything that can remotely be described as humorous at all.
The title would have the reader think it may be about the teacher (Teach Her -- geddit?) but everything seems to keep coming back to the barber Jim and his fixation on taking an adventurous trip. The son is more a head case than anything.
The only character that could be described as interesting was the ex-soldier who becomes Jim's apprentice. But then the character is pushed to the side and that is that.
Honestly, the book is irritating more than anything else.
