I got a copy of the book courtesy of NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Lorissa Volist lives with her grandparents in Canada and has been invited by her father to come to his home for a break. She goes to a place where women wear Lolita dresses and there are some really weird things going on.

Let me cut to the chase. I did not like this book. It may be something wonderful for a lot of people but it is just not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong, I like weird and I have read a large number of weird books before. However, this one is just ... Well... Too weird.

The story is disjointed. Lorissa is addicted to chocolate (which is something I can understand though I doubt if I could ever gobble as much chocolate as she does). She is also somewhat addicted to Manga. However, how the "horn" connects to the mysterious boy she has a crush on and those "shadows" that start showing up everywhere (note that they are mentioned very few times that I almost forgot about them).

I was bored stiff after a few pages. I have no idea how I ever managed to read it through. Again, this is my personal opinion and not everyone has the same preferences when it comes to books to read.
