My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

Greene's Calling is about a man named Conrad Greene. He is one of the many immortals that live among humans for centuries. For a very long time, Conrad has been living on his own in the Amazon. He has a nice, quiet life and a dog who keeps him company. Everything was fine until a plane crashes down on the house he lives in.

As he tries to make sense of the accident and search among the wreckage for any survivors, he finds a suitcase that contains a gun and some pictures. Among the pictures is that of a woman he used to work with -- a woman he truly loved along time ago. There was also a cryptic haiku which Conrad believes is a clue about what the plane passenger was about to do.

Conrad decides that it is time to leave the Amazon and to inform that woman he once loved that her life may be in danger. In the process, he learns that she is with the Secret Service and is helping to guard the President of the United States. Greene thinks the president will be assassinated. He rushes to help prevent the tragedy from happening but is unable to stop the bullet that takes the president's life.

Conrad Greene then does his best to make use of all the power his immortality gives him and, along with other immortals, search for the people responsible for a massive plan to rule the world.

Greene's Calling is a book with a book with a lot of action and adventure. The pace is pretty fast at times. All in all an exciting read.
