Book of the Month for March is My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. Described as perfect for fans of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (which I am) how could I not want to read about a woman who decides to kick back in New York for a year? Oh and for those more trendy than my 40 year old self, it’s apparently a ‘TikTok made me buy it’ book! Read along with me and have a go at answering the Book Club questions at the end of the month. In the meantime here is a snippet of what you are letting yourself in for:
Rest and Relaxation – the blurb
On the surface ,our narrator has everything you could want in life. She’s young, thin, pretty, a recent Columbia graduate and lives in an apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan paid for, like everything else, by her inheritance.
But there is a vacuum in her life and she’s got the perfect solution. She’s going to take a year under sedation to relax and hide away from the world.
What could possibly go wrong?

I will be sharing my Big Review of My Year of Rest and Relaxation on the last Friday of the month. A series of Book Club questions will also be around for you to answer on the last Thursday. Don’t wait until then though, I would love to know your marks out of ten as soon as you have read it. So grab your copy and read along with me.
