What inspired you to start your own blog?

I stumbled upon Free People’s blog while in high school and decided to try blogging myself!

How important is the name of the blog?

I think it’s very important! It’s what people hopefully remember.

How difficult is it to find a blog niche?

Very hard. There are so many blogs and bloggers out there so it can be hard to figure out where you fit in. You just have to figure out what defines you and what you love not just what everyone else does.

What is the best way to promote and grow your blog?

Network and collaborations! Comment on other blogs and support bloggers in what they’re doing, it will eventually pay off!

What is your main audience and how did you reach out to them?

My main audience I think are Portlanders! I try to visit favorite places of mine in the city to show appreciation and to hopefully introduce and inspire them to go to new places too!

How important is it for your business to attend fashion week?

I actually have never been to fashion week!

What are the best tips for building long-term relationships and partnerships with brands?

Be timely and honest. Brands have deadlines too, so it’s important to try and get content to them as soon as possible. But if something comes up, be sure to let them know and be honest about the situation.

What is the biggest challenge about running a blog?

Being consistent! I try to post everyday and produce new and inspiring content, but there are days that I don’t want to take photos, and instead I want to lay in bed and watch movies! I think it’s important to have a balance of blog time and time off to keep blogging fun, and to stay sane!

What advice would you give to anyone looking to start a blog today?

Don’t forget to have fun! Blogging can be stressful, and it can be so easy to compare yourself to what other’s have accomplished. But at the end of the day just have fun, and be you!

What are your ultimate plans for your blog/blogging career?

Currently, I am just going with the flow and seeing what happens.
