What inspired you to start your own blog?

I used to own an online clothing boutique and worked with several bloggers to promote my store. I then decided to start my own blog to show how I style items from my store. Eventually blogging became my main focus, so I closed my store, and now I blog full-time.

How important is the name of the blog?

Your blog name is very important. It the first thing someone notices about your blog. You want it to fit your overall brand.

How difficult is it to find a blog niche?

I don’t think it’s that difficult. Just find what you are passionate about and that’s your niche.

What is the best way to promote and grow your blog?

I don’t think one way of promotion is better than another. I think it’s a combination of everything that will really help you grow your blog. Being active on social media, submitting your content to sites like Style Gawker, joining link-ups, interacting with other bloggers, etc., are all things that will drive traffic to you blog.

What is your main audience and how did you reach out to them?

My main audience is a fashion lover in her 20s-40s. I reach my target audience by being active on social media and submitting my content for features on sites that my target audience is already looking at. I’ve also done collaboration with other bloggers who have a similar target audience.

How important is it for your business to attend fashion week?

I have never attended fashion week, although I think it a great way to network with others in the business.

What are the best tips for building long-term relationships and partnerships with brands?

Find brands that you truly love (and not just because of the free stuff). If you work with brands that you are passionate about, it will come across as more authentic in your blog posts, and will make for a better relationship with the brand.

What is the biggest challenge about running a blog?

Time. Blogging takes a lot of time. It takes time to put each post together and it takes time to grow your blog.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to start a blog today?

Just be yourself and have fun with it. Which I feel like is what everyone says, but it’s so true!

What are your ultimate plans for your blog/blogging career?

I’m pretty private about my goals, but ultimately, I want my blog to continue to grow and improve.
