Boatschooling: interviewed by The Sociable Homeschooler

Vivienne, of The Sociable Homeschooler

"...Your children, and a willing heart": the most important things you need to homeschool, according to Vivienne McNeny of The Sociable Homeschooler blog and radio program. I think no matter what path your choose for learning as a family, this is a beautiful fundamental to keep in mind. It's not intended to say that it's easy- it's not! But when things feel especially hard or complicated, or the road is a little rough, maybe this simple truth is a great reminder to just bring you back from the ledge.
We spent time talking with Vivienne recently: our family nestled in Totem's cabin one evening, Vivienne just past breakfast over in the UK (what did we do before Skype?!).
Vivienne talks with families from homeschooling philosophies and curricula that run pretty much across the board. Wondering what you should do? This is a great place to start! Hearing parents in the real world talk what they do, their good days and bad days, and why they choose whatever flavor of homeschooling works for them, could be just the trick to find a path that resonates. There are a few there I can't wait to listen to myself (hooray for internet access!).
We really enjoyed our chat. She's aired it on The Sociable Homechooler's radio program in two parts. You can access it via iTunes, or download mp3s of part one and part two directly from the internet radio site, but check out her personal website as well.
