Trust Yourself, to have a great time at the Canadian Tire Centre with Blue Rodeo on Valentine's Day. The Toronto, Ontario veteran band did not disappoint.
Blue Rodeo Steals Hearts!
Terra Lightfoot kicked off the evening with some powerful vocals and great tunes, including a beautiful ballad titled 'National Film Board' . She had great stage presence and even made a few jokes. She is definitely an artist to watch for.
Blue Rodeo took centre stage at 9pm, and kicked of the show with the classic hit 'Trust Yourself'. Greg Keelor's strong and powerful voice showed fans that this will be a night to remember when he performed 'The Seeker'.
The audience was laid back, and tapping their feet along to every song. Fans were even treated to a few new songs, including Rabbit's Foot, a song about "a desperate obsession". However when fan favourite '5 days in May' kicked off, a bunch of fans were rushing up to the stage. Many were dancing and singing along. After this tune, security was pulling people away from the stage but that didn't stop Jim Cuddy to ask security to "Please let them stay at the stage" during the beautiful acoustic song "One Light Left in Heaven".
One new hit in particular that grabbed the attention of fans, was titled 1000 Arms. Jim Cuddy explained this song is about a young woman, who suffers from mental health issues, and ends up in San Francisco as the owner of a coffee shop, and every time she loses herself, people are always there to remind her who she is and bring her back.
The band closed off their main set with Diamond Mine, and fans just wouldn't let up. After a few moments of cheering the band came back out to play a few more songs.
Covering Rodney Cowells song 'Till I Gain Control Again', with everyone swaying along to the music, the band then dove right into 'Hasn't Hit Me Yet' encouraging fans to sing along with them.
To close off the night, Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy invited Terra Lightfoot and her band on stage for their 1992 hit 'Lost Together'. Which had fans dancing along, and swaying to every beat.
The band will continue to embark on their Canada Wide tour as they hit up Massey Hall in Toronto on their next date February 18th. For full tour information and tickets visit www.bluerodeo.com
