Blast in PPP Corner Meeting Kills Two, Injures 40

KarachiAt least two people including a 10-year-old girl were killed and more than 40 wounded in the corner meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Lyari on Saturday night.

A blast occurred shortly after twin blasts near Muttahuida Qaumi Movement’s in Qasba Colony area killed two and left 25 injured.

According to reports, the PPP election gathering in Kumhar Warda area was in full swing when the explosive material, strapped around a motorbike, detonated. The police, however, haven’t confirmed the nature of blast.

The injured also include PPP’s national and provincial assembly candidates Aziz Mamon and Adnan Baloch.

Police, rangers have cordoned-off the area while the dead and injured are being shifted to Lyari General Hospital.
