Blast from the Past

Look of the Day – Inspired by the 50′s pin up style, polka dots and red sunnies best represent the Rockabilly vibe (sans the hair). It’s girly, it’s fun and it’s printastic. It is also my way to express another print in my fave black and white. Teehee!

Black and white spot sleeveless cutout dress, Inlovewithfashion. Red heels, Luxury Mall. Earrings, Forever 21.

“Baby put on heart shaped sunglasses
Cause we gonna take a ride
I’m not gonna listen to what the past says
I’ve been waiting up all night”

I’m always reminded of the 50′s whenever I see polka dots, hot red lipstick with cat eyes, corsets, halter tops, and poofy skirts. It is an era when women embraced their feminine side and showed what they got. Hell yeah! Form-fitting, hourglass shape, trendy hair, and a lot of skin sum it all up. All girly, I love it!

My take on the trend is to make it a bit modern — this dress that has cutouts with a punch of red here and there.

50s

My outfit inspiration. Close enough. Haha!

I must say, this dress is amazeballs! The plunging V-neck and the side cut-outs is very much a trademark of Inlovewithfashion dresses. I may have collected some in different prints and lengths. Thank you Veronika and Stephanie for sending me the goodies!

I spy with my little eyes.. The red sunnies was a late add-on. It completed the whole look!

What do you think?

That’s it for today’s look despite the unplanned “tanned” skin. Lol! I’ll try to post an outfit a day to keep up with backlogs and maybe shoot some more as well.

;-)

Stay wicked!
