If Dire Straits had formed in the 21st century they might have moved to Australia and become Blank Realm.; at least that’s the impression I get from “Falling Down the Stairs”. The track combines the guitar pop ear of Mark Knopfler with the synthesized sea shanty maneuvers of a group like Split Enz. “Falling Down the Stairs” is colorful, bright, and it glistens and snaps like rays of light hitting ferocious Pacific waves; this is the perfect cure for some early morning blues.
