Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were first publicly linked nearly a year ago and now they are officially husband and wife. Ryan and Lively got married on Sunday night at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston.
A source confirmed that Lively, 25, and Reynolds, 35, said “I do” in a private ceremony at the stunning property familiar to everyone of the 2004 tearjerker, ‘The Notebook’. The couple apparently married in a relaxed, private ceremony followed by a reception that showed off A-list talented artist.
“Ryan and Blake wanted the event to look and feel like home,” wedding planner Tara Guerard revealed. “With decor and live music, we all created the charm, elegance and magic of times passed.”
At the ceremony, ‘The Gossip Girl’ actress wore ‘a hand-draped silk tulle bodice adorned with crystal and rose gold embroidery.’ Her bridesmaids wore blush silk chiffon Marchesa gowns with crystal embroidered detail, co-designed by Harvey Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman. All the ladies wore custom shoes from Christian Louboutin.
The groom and his groomsmen donned Burberry suits with handcrafted leather suspenders designed by his friend and creative director of the brand, Christopher Bailey. Finally, the couple exchanged wedding bands from jeweler to the stars Lorraine Schwartz.
The ceremony was held in a “rustic barn” and the reception, in a white tent at the plantation. Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a good friend of Lively, performed live three songs, and followed by a deejay who rolled the tunes. Reportedly, Bette Midler is also said to have performed for the wedding guest, which included Lively’s mother and sister. The wedding was a small and private ceremony with just 70 guests attending it including close family and Hollywood friends.
The couple will stay on the wedding venue till they depart for their honeymoon this week. It is presumed that the new bride will be with Reynolds in their lately acquired Bedford, N.Y. home upon their return.
Blake and Ryan met on the set of ‘The Green Lantern’ in 2011. Reynolds was previously married to Scarlett Johansson for two years. The couple divorced in 2010. This is the first marriage for Lively, who previously dated her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley and Leonardo DiCaprio.
