What would you do if you found a special suit that allows you to move in and out of our world through a parallel dimension? In Blackout, we are introduced to Scott Travers who has said suit…only he doesn’t know when or where he got it.
I am always intrigued by #1 issues. I want to see if it can pull me in from the start and make me continue reading the series or is it just going to make me say “Meh” and toss it aside. Blackout has me wanting to read more. Right off the bat we see this man (Scott) in a crazy looking suit in an apparent dream sequence. We find out that this dream is not only a dream, but part of his memories. Trippy, right? The question I am asking as well as Scott is, Where did the suit come from? Scott works for some lab and there is a “situation” going on there. Whenever a lab of some sort plays a part in a story, we know some stuff is gonna go down. Anything can happen. It’s up to the writer’s imagination to where he wants to bring this story and what this suit is going to be used for. We get to see a glimpse of what the suit can do but are left hanging from the proverbial cliff. Next time Gadget, next time.
I am going to give this series a shot. This being a part 1 of 4, I can’t say it’s bad because it is what I was expecting from this book. I have questions I want answered so I will read book 2. If you like a little futuristic science fiction (or non fiction…who knows), check out Blackout from Dark Horse Comics.
