Snake in the night sky
Thunderous and profound
Dangerous and needed
Controlled and respected
As in life
Should never be neglected

Positive, a negative

Follows suit
For white and black
Always in pursuit
Equally powerfully
Life and death
Heaven and hell
The butterfly effect
Black lightning
A silent passerby
Omnipotent
Needed to survive
For death creeps in
An unwelcome event
Trying to stay balanced
Prayers have been sent
Trying to avoid
The strike of the hand
Searing across the sky
Disaster across the land
A jolt awaits me
I am but small
Yet am falling victim
Of the mighty claw
Trying to take cover
Asking for God’s touch
