Sophie May has a secret.
One that she's successfully kept for years. It's meant that she's had to give up her dreams of going to university and traveling the world to stay in her little village, living with her mom and working in the local teashop.
But then she meets the gorgeous Billy - an actor with ambitions to make it to the top. And when they fall in love, Sophie is whisked away from the comfort of her life into Billy's glamorous - but ruthless - world.
Their relationship throws Sophie right into the spotlight after years of shying away from attention. Can she handle the constant scrutiny that comes with being with Billy? And most of all, is she ready for her secret heartbreak to be discovered and shared with the nation? - Amazon
It's no lie; the only reason I picked up this book was because Tom from McFly's wife wrote it but bloody hell, I'm glad I did because this book is phenomenal. I laughed, I cried and I became emotionally attached to each of the characters.
The storyline, to me, is made to feel so realistic even though there isn't a hell in chance it would ever happen as much as I wish it would be. Sophie May is written so well and is a very relatable and down to earth and the relationship between Billy and Sophie was heart warming and felt real. I can't forget about the lovely Molly, who owns the local tea shop. Molly is a lovely lady who provided me with so much comfort and was a big cause of both my laughs and tears. She was a great mix to the characters, offering the optimistic perspective to the story and gave Sophie advise which, at times, I wanted to give to her too.
I can't wait to read more from Giovanna because her writing style is really nice and realistic.
This is definitely a summer beach read which I recommend to any chick lit, heart warming book readers out there!
