This is a sneak preview of my all-time favorite kindergarten lesson, one that just came together last week. It’s basically a formula for drawing a face that fills the paper and then finishing with my new favorite — tablet tempera cakes.
What made this project so successful was that ALL the students came up with very different, but large faces. Then the tablet cakes made it so easy for one adult to work with 24 little kids, without any tears (mine!). No squirting or messy waste, just a cup of water, brush, and an assortment of cakes in little cups for each student. I used the Dick Blick ones you can find HERE. They are only a little over $1 each, and a lifesaver as far as I’m concerned.
