Between Life And Death
There are Millions of people who were touched by death, and then returned to the world of the living. They claim to have left their physical body and visited other worlds and realities.
Are these extreme thoughts due to the agony of their brains or they really took a sneak peek into the afterlife? For modern science human consciousness is still a mystery, which we will try to unravel in this article ...
Assassins were hired to kiss the Gruzian dissident Rodonaya Gregoriyevich. The execution was carried out precisely. The young man was hit by a car, then the car came back and passed over the body for the second time . His bones were broken, in the Annex to the death certificate of Tbilisi the doctors noted the multiple fractures of the skull and spine as the probable cause of his death. Transported to the morgue, the corpse was placed in the freezer awaiting the autopsy. Three days later, when the coroner started to cut the frozen body Rodonaya's eyes opened. The Pathologist closed them and continued the dissection, but he opened his eyes again. It was clear that the ''dead'' man was alive.

The fact that the Gruzian dissident survived through all this is interesting, but what was even more extreme was him telling the story of his resurrection. As the transcending body of Rodonaya was caught in a world of light, unfettered by physical laws, his liberated soul could travel in time and space to see through walls and read the thoughts of others.

Naturally, the doctors did not pay particular attention to the "memories" of the patient returning from the dead, but Rodonaya was able to show some clear proof of what he was talking about. For example, he shared that during his journey out of his body he heard the sound of a newborn in the neighboring building of the hospital and appeared there. Having examined the baby with sharpened perceptions, the ethereal spirit of Rodonaya discovered that it had serious defects of a femur. After he announced his "diagnosis" of the baby's condition, the doctors from the hospital were shocked. The X-rays showed that he was right. So far, the only reasonable explanation of his phenomenal insight remains his story about his near death experience.

Rodonaya Gregoriyevich who "died" in 1976, is now the head of the Methodist center in Texas. He is one of the numerous people who claim to have experienced a unique journey during their brief trip to death. People, returning from the afterlife usually tell similar stories.

In 1926 the founder of the Society for psychical research Sir William Barrett presented an overview of the UK scientific studies dedicated to such experiences. The majority of experts are skeptical about the ability to connect with the afterlife, but a number of indisputable facts become the reason for more and more researchers to investigate the matter. The Quantum theory turned our ideas about the nature of things upside down, and in the beginning of the XXI century there were conducted hundreds of researches around the world. I should mention The British Association for Researches of phenomena, the group of fellow scientists of the molecular physiologists Mario Markus from the German Institute "Max Planck", the group of the American psychiatrists Kenneth Ring, Elizabeth Ross, Raymond Moody and many others. According to studies of American specialists in the recent decades, only in the U.S. alone there were nearly 13 million people who experienced some form of the near-death condition. Similar attempts to look straight into the eye of death and ask what lies behind it were done by specialized research teams from the UK, China, India, Zaire and others. They recorded the stories of people with different cultures, nationality and religion, resurrected after a state of clinical death, and they told an incredible sequence of almost identical experiences.

A Nurse from the intensive care unit at a hospital in Swansea, UK, published her academic work based on 10 years of her near-death-experience studies.

Penny Sartori describes 15 cases, mainly in patients with heart attacks who were in a state near death. Stories of surviving patients include experiences as travels outside the body, most of them in a tunnel leading to the white light, and meetings with deceased loved ones.
Ms. Sartori began her study in 1998, after having found that there was almost no professional literature for nurses providing care of people on the edge of life and death.
It took five years of case studies, three years of writing and two years of preparation for her publication.
Ms. Sartori found that people who had experiences outside the body were hovering over their bodies and were able to describe what was happening in the room extremely precisely, although they were unconscious and their eyes - closed.
People also said that they traveled through a tunnel to some bright light. Some talked about beings who told them that it was not their time to join them, and others - that have met with deceased relatives and communicated with them through telepathy. In another case, a patient told her about a meeting with a deceased relative who revealed a crucial information about a living family member. According to Ms. Sartori that information was shocking because it was a secret that the patient had no way of knowing in advance.
Usually experiences near death are attributed to the effect of endorphins, mostly high concentration blood gases or low oxygen levels. In her study, all these factors were taken into account. All previous arguments against skeptics experiences, near-death, were not supported by research," says Sartori.
There was a case of a patient, who suffered from cerebral palsy, and when he woke up from a near-death experience, he started to use his right hand normally, although it was bent and crippled from his birth. It was amazing that he could freely open his hand.
