Benefit Bella Bamba

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
Here we have another blog sale bargain that I was so excited to see pop up on my reading list last week. Out of all the Benefit boxed blushes Bella Bamba and Hervana have been the ones I have seen myself drooling over the most and when Bella Bamba become available at a truly bargainous price I just couldn't say no. The blush arrived a few days later and I was honestly so excited to open the package with the biggest grin on my face. Oh if anybody had seen me, they'd never have let me forget it ha. Anyway, on opening the package I completely fell in love with the overall packaging of the blush as it is just so pretty with its holographic shine and jazzy design. This blush features flip-up lid with an included mirror as opposed to the usual detached lids of previous Benefit boxed blushes. If I'm honest I prefer the older design as the attached lid tends to close over itself and sometimes gets in the way when getting your brush in the pan. A minor niggle but I thought I would mention it anyway. Now on to the product itself..

"The triple dimension of pink...brightening, sculpting & defining. Sweep on the apples of your cheeks & dot at the hairline for a total thrill of dimensional color. WOW!"
I thought I would include the little blurb on the base of the box as I'm one of these people who loves catchy little descriptions and Benefit are no exception. Bella Bamba is marketed as "a 3D brightening pink face powder" and while I'm still not entirely sure how this can achieve a 3D look I am very impressed with the brightening ability of this powder due to the noticeable but very flattering gold shimmer running through the product. I am in love with the color of this blush as it can only be described as a true watermelon pink as seen in the swatch above and surprise surprise, the powder actually smells like watermelon which I thought was a great touch.
The formulation of the powder is a bit on the looser side as the swipe of a brush causes a fair bit of fallout within the box but I don't find this to be a problem as it will stay in the box until it is used anyway, however I just thought I would mention it as I have seen a few bloggers who were put off by this. Pigmentation wise I think that this blusher is great as the color payoff is impressive from the smallest of swatches while still providing a subtle glow for the cheeks, but be careful not to be too heavy handed during application as the watermelon pink shade may become a bit too much for paler skin tones when built up.
All in all I am in love with Bella Bamba and am so glad that I took the plunge and tried out another Benefit boxed blush as Bella Bamba and Coralista have quickly jumped to the top of my favorite blushers. Have you tried Bella Bamba or do you plan to in the future?
