One of the great things about planet Earth is all of the beauty it contains – beauty that can cause you to just lose yourself and completely forget your problems. This is one of the many reasons why I run outside. It is also something I use on a daily basis to help with my anxiety.
Recently, I went to the beach and just stared at the waves. The ocean is so powerful yet has such a calming effect on me. I imagine the water scooping up my problems and washing them out to sea. (I am also a huge geology nut so the ocean fascinates me in other ways most don’t understand but I’ll save that for my rock geek blog.) I also love the sounds of the ocean from the crashing waves, to the birds, to the various people around me. Everyone and everything is just so relaxed, it’s hard to not to feel calm!
Nature is my free therapy. I love see the sun and the clouds in the sky, the various animals running about, and the different seasons come and go. This brings me peace every day and a reason to not let my worries get me down. What parts of nature are the most calming for you?
