Beauty Yays of 2015

By Twoplicates
Another year has swooped by which ultimately means a post dedicated to our favorite beauty items of 2015. 2015 had been a busy year for us which saw twoplicates not being as active as we'd like it to be, however 2016 is here and what a better way to start it off by showing our best of the best.
Beauty Yays of 2015
Shiseido Eye Curler
When I can't be bothered putting makeup on but want to look slightly put together, I'll always make sure to do my brows and curl my lashes. This curler is particularly good for my eye shape as they don't get pinched and really makes my lashes all perky.
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer Just an easy go to concealer that I use for my under my eyes. The formula is just really easy to work with, blending seamlessly into the skin. I feel like this is really self explanatory as everyone raves about it so I'll just leave it at that :)
Ulta3 Moisturising Lipstick With the back of our hands acting as a blank canvas, we swatched a decent 20-30 lipsticks before deciding on this color. This is my go to MLBB, everyday lip color that I go for. Staying power isn't very strong, especially after eating but it is worth reapplying it as it suits me.
Beauty Yays of 2015 Dollywink Eyeshadow Palette
A really great palette that is perfect for traveling as it is compact and lightweight. The formula is very buttery, there is little fallout and can be applied with fingers. I find that the color combination is  spot on, with the first & third colours being my most used. I apply the peachy shade all over my lid and then go in with the brown on the outer corners and lash line for an everyday look. I'd describe the formula as a satin sheen that has a bit of sparkle but not too OTT which makes it good for day and night. Beauty Yays of 2015 Clio Kill Black Brush Liner
A very decent, trustworthy liner. It ticks all the boxes that you would expect from an eyeliner: opaque, easy application, thin applicator, lasts all day, smudge proof, transfer proof and good ink flow. The only thing that I didn't like was that it dried out and ran out pretty fast! Usually the Dollywink liquid eyeliner last me a good year and a half but this one only lasted maybe 6-7 months and I didn't use it that much (twice a week or less) :(
Beauty Yays of 2015Benefit Hoola Another cult favorite. This is really great for contouring as it is the perfect balance of brown to get dem cheekbones popping. I've used Hoola consistently since I bought it in 2013 (lol) and I have NOT hit pan! Definitely worth the price tag and I really recommend this.
Real Techniques Perfected Blush Brush
A staple that goes hand in hand with the Benefit Hoola. The precise tip is good for tapping bronzer/blush/highlight on specific areas that you want, and the brush is really light and fluffy, making it great for blending in general. Whether the occasion calls for the subtle, natural or strong, photoready contour, this brush has your back.
Beauty Yays of 2015Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 08 Grand Cru
My go-to red lip product for ages. The texture is smooth and velvety when applied, lasts through greasy foods such as pizza (I do eat carefully though), and doesn't cling to dry areas of your lips. The only downside is that it never really "sets", so it is easily transferrable throughout the wear. If you're like me and find it a hassle to touch up/check on this throughout the day, then I definitely recommend checking this out.
Maybelline Super Stay Nail Polish in 130 Rose Poudre
Never thought I'd pick a nail polish as a favorite (let alone a yearly favourite), but this one's a goodie. The color is a neutral soft pink, perfect for everyday wear, and becomes completely opaque within two thin coats. The brush is thick, which means faster application and no need for redipping. The formula did stay for a bit more than 7 days on me, given that there was slight wearing down at the tips, but totally fine nonetheless.  Best money I've spent on a nail polish :P
