My eye make-up for the past couple of years has been a simple slick of eyeliner and coats and coats of mascara. If I ever applied eyeshadow, it would be for a night out and straight up 'black all over'. It's safe to say that it looked horrific and looking back I wish someone had told me just how silly I looked! Panda isn't even the word...
I purchased the MAC 217 Brush earlier this year after hearing nothing but good things. Since then I've been wearing eyeshadow a lot more and it's made a huge difference to my eyeshadow application skills. Whether it be a sweep of a neutral all over the lid or a full-on blended smokey eye, this brush has changed how my eye makeup looks completely!
If I want to wear a shadow during the day, I'll go for a really soft look. The 217 is of the perfect density for a subtle wash of color all over the lid. I'll usually go for a color like Woodwinked by MAC, a beautiful bronze with gold shimmer running through it. However, for nights out I like to take my eye make-up to a whole new level with the Urban Decay 'Naked 2' Palette. The 217 really shines when it comes to creating a smokey eye and blending three or four shades together. It's size means it fits perfectly into the crease to help create depth with the right shades.
If you're new to eyeshadow and/or want to improve your skills, I couldn't recommend this brush enough. It's a tad expensive at £18 but it's so worth it. If you'd like to see some make-up looks using this brush please let me know what you'd like to see! Do you own this brush? Have you found a similar yet cheaper option?
