After spending last Monday reading through several versions of Sophia's beauty blogging appropriate tag I couldn’t help but have a go at this one. I’m not a usual fan of tags but the tailored nature really appealed to me and I’ve been enjoying those blog posts with there sixpence thrown in.
Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?I have been blogging for just over a year- I started July 2011. I had been watching Youtube videos and reading blogs for a while. I really like to read up about a product especially if it’s expensive and I used blogs as a valid reference to get good advice. I remember at this time particularly Lollipop aka Laura from Buy Now Blog Later had started writing a fashion blog and I was simply mesmerised by the crisp images and eloquent and honest writing so I thought I’d give it a go and throw out what I had to share into the mix.
Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
As Above Buy Now Blog Later
What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?It was the Chanel Pro Lumiere and it is to date the best foundation I have ever owned- hype well deserved!
What are your favorite five things about blogging and being a beauty blogger? I really enjoy the process of taking the blog pictures, the write up and edit as a post is developed. I find the whole process very enjoyable- I’m not a creative person but my blog brings out my creative side.
I think the blogging community is great it’s a very positive place to be involved in. There is a lot of support and respect for one another which I think can be quite sparse in other online communities. I have met some brilliant and inspirational bloggers through reading blogs and twitter, they’ve made my experience the positive one I have had.
I love how Beauty bloggers are so current with beauty trends, I feel like I am getting the latest hot off the press honest reviews as if they were from a friend. I also find it hilarious everyone gets sucked in and it cloggs up my reading feed. (We can’t help ourselves!)
I love reading feedback on my posts there’s no greater feeling than reading that someone else feels the same about a product or can relate to my posts and the things that I like.

What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger? That there is nothing wrong with putting yourself out there. It may seem scary at first but when others can relate to your posts there is no greater feeling.
Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?I have a better camera and this helps me create my own versions of the crisp images I loved so much in Laura's blog.
What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out? If anything that social media is an incredibly powerful tool- I have established good working relationships with other bloggers and companies through Twitter. If your starting out get yourself on there and get involved. Building a blog takes a lot of time and a lot of passion- it’s not going to happen overnight.
Name your top five brands! MACChanelTigiCliniqueEssie
Recommend your top five favorite beauty products! General skin care would be Soap And Glory- all of their products smell amazing! For haircare it’d be Tigi again they smell delicious and work wonders on my locks, nails I would choose Essie as it’s pretty hard wearing on my low maintenance nails. Foundation I would recommend Estee Lauder Double wear with a dusting of Benefit's Hoola.
