I love books that inspire imagination in kids. Here are two great books for this.
Beautiful Oops! by Barney Saltzberg is a positive celebration of mistake. Mistake is such a heavy word just like failure (in a previous blog post I used the word Nearling to describe failures). This book is an adventure into possibilities that emerges when you spill paint on a drawing, or tear your paper.
Beautiful Oops! invites a child to explore pop-ups, lift-the-flaps, tears, holes, overlays, bends, smudges, and even an accordion “telescope”. An imaginative way to magically transform blunders to wonders.

Barney’s newest book is a lesson in how to throw your heart into whatever you are doing. Trying a little bit harder because with A Little Bit of Oomph! you can create something magical and beautiful. This book is about how to change curiosity into discovery and daydreams into playthings. A creative, engaging and interactive. Sprinkle some creative seeds and challenge your child’s creativity.
