BATMAN ETERNAL #6 Review

Posted on the 14 May 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

In Batman Eternal #6, we get a few more characters introduced into the story as well as a visual change-up.

Right of the “Bat”, we get Batwing falling from the sky with The Gentleman’s Ghost.  Batman shows up to save the day with the perfect piece of weaponry that can rid him of the ghost.  There is something crazy going on with what seem like radioactive glowing skeletons lurking beneath Gotham City.  Jim Corrigan shows up a Wayne Manor to have a word with Bruce about some magic that is going on in Gotham.  Batman sends Batwing to help out Jim with his research.  Back at Arkham Asylum, we see a “mentally ill” (to be P.C.) patient explaining to his doctor about his extreme nightmares he is having.  The doctor walks him down a path that leads him to another villain that is introduced into this series; Joker’s Daughter!  If you recall back to the end of last year when Scott Snyder Tweeted out the Batsgiving photo, she was sitting under the table.  Not a surprise she is in it as much as she came in now.  All while this is happening, Batman is getting an earful again from “Penny-One” (like you couldn’t figure out it was Alfred PENNYworth) about pulling an all-nighter again to give vigilance its due.  Batman was tracking a truck he put a sensor on when suddenly KA-THOOM!

I am REALLY anxious to see what is going to happen in Gotham.  There are so many characters and sub stories getting put into the mix, it is going to be pure genius to see it all tied together.  Although we had an artistic team change, the team did a fantastic job.  The colorist’s work really added depth to the pencils which are nicely done.  Just another week down in this series.  It would be crazy to know how long this would be drawn out if it was on a standard monthly occurrence.
