BATMAN ETERNAL #18 Review

Posted on the 06 August 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

Back to the story that I was enjoying, Batman Eternal 18 steps out of the supernatural realm and into the meat of the series.  We bounce back and forth between Brazil and Gotham.  Red Hood, Batgirl and Batwoman are working on their attack plan for finding the mystery man at this toy company.  An unforeseen change of events has Batgirl acting a little differently.  Back in Gotham, Batman meets up with Bard and they travel into the sewers.  Just as the teaser at the end of the last chapter, they come face to face with Waylon Jones “The Killer Croc”.  An impressive sight I might say so myself.  a suspicion from Bard makes him believe that Croc is responsible for some of the murders they came across but Batman proves that irrelevant pretty quickly.  Weird things are happening in the sewers and it is only the beginning for their search.

I am very happy with this book.  We got back to the story that I am most interested in as well as got a different artist in the mix.  I really was impressed with the cover art but the interiors are beautiful as well.  I really dig Andy’s Batman and attention to detail especially in the boot tread area.  The introduction to Killer Croc was a sight to see.  He is SO massive compared to Bard and Bats.  Croc is a force to be reckoned with and hopefully helps out more than does harm in the story.  I wasn’t expecting that so much time would be spent in Brazil but it is turning out to be more necessary.  Red Hood’s dialog about Batgirl was spoken so well.  Good to see her getting some credit because she is a crucial part of the Bat Family and now I am anxious to see what comes of her in (hopefully) the next issue.
