BATMAN ETERNAL #17 Review

Posted on the 30 July 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

The supernatural is alive and kicking in this chapter of Batman Eternal.  We get bounce back and forth from 3 years ago with James Corrigan’s life to the present day in the underlyings of Arkham Asylum.  Batwing is still down there trying to fight off these zombie like creatures.  Bouncing over to the other side of the world, Red Robin and Harper Row are talking with Sergei about the nanotech.  Harper puts on a display her her tech skills trying to prove her existence.  We also see a bit of Julia Pennyworth and Alfred again.  Little does she know what Alfred actually does on a daily basis.  I am really waiting for this section of the story to move along so we can get back to the gang war and Batman.  I don’t know exactly what role this is all going to play in the whole story quite yet as I don’t see a connection.

Creatively, we have the same team again on this book.  I am getting more used to Nguyen’s art.  The first time I saw him in this series I wasn’t a fan but it is working for me now.  Next month could be interesting.  I see the title of Croc Attack! at the bottom of the last panel.  Could Killer Croc be making an appearance in this plethora of characters?  Only one week to wait to find out.
