Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Grapefruit
It's about time I posted about the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail paints, so here I am with the shade Grapefruit! I was drawn to this shade because I'm a massive fan of pink nails and the addition of a shiny gel-looking finish had me sold straight away. Grapefruit is a gorgeous bright coral pink shade which is absolutely perfect for the summer and it's even bright enough that it can appear neon in some lights. The camera was having a really hard time picking up the brightness of this polish as it's coming across a lot more of a toned down coral in the photo, but I promise you that it's brighter in real life. The big selling point of the Gelly Hi-Shine is of course the shiny gel finish and I think that the finish of Grapefruit definitely lived up to my expectations of a gel-looking shine as I'm a newbie to gel nails. I hope you can get an idea of the shine in the photo as it really is the shiniest polish I own. Of course you could achieve a really shiny finish with topcoats such as Seche Vite but I don't actually use a topcoat so the added shine was a welcome addition to my nails. Application was nice enough with an opaque color in 2 coats and quick drying time, but I would say that the forumla is a bit thick so be careful not to apply too much and make a mess because that's never fun to clear up! You can find the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail paints in Boots and Superdrug for £3.99, and Superdrug are currently running a 3 for 2 on all cosmetics so it's the perfect time to stock up and give the line a go if you haven't already.
