I'm not usually one for fancy topcoats unless it's a special occasion or I just want to jazz up a boring nail colour, but as soon as I saw this Confetti top coat from Barry M I knew I just had to have it! I chose the shade Dolly Mixture which has thin strips of matte glitter in a number of pastel colours and is suspended in a clear base polish. I'm a sucker for anything pastel so this had to be the shade I went for and I'm so glad that I did because it really adds something different to a normal manicure. I gave myself a ring finger manicure last week and added this polish over a nude base, and I have to say that it looked so pretty!
I've layered it over the 5 colours in the Models Own Fruit Pastel collection, just to give you an idea of how Dolly Mixture looks over a number of different shades. Application was nice enough as you tend to get a good glitter to clear polish ratio which is great as some polishes can end up gloopy on the nail after applying a million coats just to give the nail a good covering of glitter. The thing I would say is that some of the glitter strips can be a bumpy once dried but this can soon be fixed by applying a clear top coat and smoothing it over. All in all I'm very happy to have this lovely nail polish in my collection as it really brightens up any nail color underneath and is a bargain at £3.99. You can find Dolly Mixture and the rest of the Barry M Confetti Nail Paints in Boots and Superdrug
